Lakeland defeats Olyphant, 12-2, in District 32 Little League Tournament

Lakeland's Tony Harding had three hits in a 12-2 win over Olyphant on Wednesday at Jessup in the District 32 11- and 12-year-old All-Star Tournament.

Lakeland broke the game open with eight runs in the fourth inning to back winning pitcher R.J. Longstreet. Christian Selvenis and Sean Pittack each doubled.

Dickson City 10

Carbondale 1

At Central City, Mike Petcavage, Tom Davis and Matt Mierjewski all homered to lead Dickson City.

Ryan Kenny had three hits for Carbondale.

Throop 23

Central City 2

At Central City, Alex Varaksa, Zach Nemitz and Josh Gorton all homered to lead Throop. Varaksa finished with three hits and five RBIs.

District 32 9-10

Winning pitcher Mike McGee fired a no-hitter and struck out nine to lead Jefferson Township to an 11-0 win over Olyphant.

Tim Blaine, Kyler McAllister and Mark Cicerini each doubled and had two hits for the winners.

Central City 12

Lakeland 2

At Throop, Ross Zanghi crushed a three-run home run and winning pitcher Mike Nunel struck out seven to lead Central City.

Newfoundland 13

North Scranton 3

At Jefferson Twp., winning pitcher Reese Phillips gave up only two hits to lead Newfoundland.

Austin Gilpin and Donald Barry both doubled for the winners.

Steven Zymblosky doubled and had the only two hits for North Scranton.

District 17 11-12

Ryan Sherman tossed a five-hitter and had three hits, including a home run, to lead South Scranton to a 10-0 win over West Scranton.

Bobby Chickeletti hit a two-run homer, a triple and added a single and Colin Maldonato also had three hits for the winners.

Abington National 14

Connell Park 0

At West Scranton, winning pitcher Dan Timlin had two hits, including a home run, to lead Abington National.

Bret Andrisani, Matt McDonald, Tyler Ksiazek and John Czebuk each had two hits for the winners.

Abington American 4

Old Forge 3

Bobbie Patrician, Joey Arcangelo and Jeremy Critchley all doubled to lead Abington American. Critchley finished with three hits.

District 17 9-10

D.J. Popper cracked a double to lead North Pocono to a 7-5 win over Abington American. Lucas Goodman doubled for Abington American.

District 32 Jr. League

Winning pitcher Jack Caufield struck out nine to lead Weston Park to a 12-2 win over Green Ridge.

Caufield, Joe Devine, Chad Engleman, Mike Miller and Phil Batyko had two hits each for the winners. Josh Worobey doubled for Green Ridge.

Carbino Club 14

Tri-County 2

Matt Staback hit a three-run home run to lead Carbino Club. Bobby Holeva and Colin Ferguson each had two hits for the winners. Kyle Troiani doubled for Tri-County.
