Police: Man told wife he'd kill her

SCRANTON - A West Scranton man whose wife found him smoking crack in their bedroom was arrested Friday for threatening to kill her if she called 911, police said.

Andre Richardson, 48, of 116 N. Hyde Park Ave., was taken into custody minutes after the incident when officers spotted him walking near the home around 9 a.m., police said.

Mr. Richardson, who struggled with officers during his arrest, was found to have a crack pipe clenched in his fist, according to arrest papers. Officers also found crack inside a cigarette pack while searching his belongings.

Mr. Richardson was charged with terroristic threats, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

I feel bad for his family but his wife did him a favor calling him out on his failing judgment. With any luck (and work) he'll get his shit together and realize what he's risking.

So why doesn't the council and the mayor hire more cops? Because the citizens will complain about any increase in taxes to pay for them.

His wife was ticked because he wouldn't share his stash with her. If he had this would have never happened.

It's a parody of the prison board... They have their fists wrapped tightly around their new drug or should I say contract and nothing is going to pry those fingers apart! Despite all their "hype" promises over the last several weeks.

I seriously didn't realize that the Mayor was the drug lord of Scranton, that it was him who brought drugs to our city ..... wow, I guess I need to take my head out of the sand don't I.
The ignorance of people never ceases to amaze me ...... Just so I am clear on this, drugs weren't an issue or problem BEFORE Dougherty became Mayor???????? I guess I was mistaken.
