TAYLOR - A new five-year contract awarded to seven administrators in the Riverside School District last week provides for annual raises of 3.4 percent in each year of the contract.

The new plan, which governs the principals, vice principals and supervisors of special education, technology and maintenance, took effect Wednesday and runs through June 30, 2014.

A final copy of the agreement was not immediately available after it was approved at Tuesday's special school board meeting but was provided to The Times-Tribune by solicitor Raymond C. Rinaldi II later in the week.

Mr. Rinaldi said in addition to the raises, the contract also makes the positions of Riverside Elementary West principal and director of special education 12-month positions instead of 10-month positions.

According to the new salary schedule outlined in the administrators' compensation plan:

n High school Principal Joseph Moceyunas will earn $87,783 in the 2009-10 school year and will be making $100,344 when the new agreement expires at the end of the 2013-14 school year.

n High school Vice Principal Daniel Gilroy, who started his position Wednesday, will earn $64,000 this school year and be making $73,158 at the end of the contract.

n Riverside Elementary West Principal Paul Brennan will earn $66,000 in 2009-10 and make $75,444 in 2013-14.

n Scott Pentasuglio, who officially took over as Riverside Elementary East principal on Wednesday, will earn $75,000 in 2009-10 and be making $85,732 by the end of the agreement.

n The district's director of special education, Kristin Samsell, will make $62,000 this school year and be earning $70,871 in 2013-14.

n Technology coordinator Barbara Chisdock will make $50,629 in 2009-10 and be earning $57,874 by the end of the new contract.
