Crash injures Summit woman

SOUTH ABINGTON TWP. - A Clarks Summit woman was injured in a one-car crash early Thursday on the Morgan Highway, township police said.

Shannon Gentile, 33, of 906 Woodlawn Ave., was driving north about 2:20 a.m. when her Volvo wagon left the road just south of the Village Grocery and hit a tree head-on, Police Chief Robert Gerrity said.

It was raining and the road was wet at the time, he said.

Chief Gerrity said Ms. Gentile was taken from the scene by ambulance. Efforts to determine her condition were unsuccessful.
