Roy F. Boyd has been named chief financial officer for Wyoming Valley Health Care System, which includes Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Heritage House, Behavioral Health Services of Wyoming Valley and Wyoming Valley Academic Medicine.

"Roy's extensive background, which spans more than two decades of financial leadership in health care, will prove to be a valuable asset to our administrative team and our organization," said Cornelio Catena, chief executive officer.

Mr. Boyd has more than 25 years of financial experience in the hospital and health system setting, most recently serving as chief financial officer at Easton Hospital. In his new role, he will be responsible for the financial oversight of all Wyoming Valley Health Care System programs, services and operations.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Moravian College, Bethlehem, and his MBA from Wilkes University.

Mr. Boyd replaces Maggie Koehler, who was named senior vice president and assistant chief executive officer when Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems took over on May 1.
