Fidelity Deposit and Discount Bank

Jack Nolan has been hired as regional sales manager, responsible for half of the bank's branches in southern Lackawanna and Luzerne counties. Mr. Nolan has more than 16 years of managerial and banking experience. A resident of Wilkes-Barre, he is a graduate of the McCann School of Business, serves as vice president of Big Brothers, Big Sisters and is a soccer coach for E.L. Meyers High School.

Mount Airy Casino Resort

Sal Fasano was hired as head chef of the casino's Italian eatery, La Sorelle Cucina. Born and raised in Naples, Italy, Mr. Fasano's specialties include traditional Northern Italian favorites including specialty breads, pastas, desserts and pastries. A 20-year veteran of the restaurant industry, Mr. Fasano was formerly employed as head chef at Atlantic City's Medici Restaurant, the Zagat-rated Italian eatery at the Sands Casino Hotel.

Prizm Asset Management, L.P.

Brian West was recently promoted to the position of director of operations for the firm. He joined the company in July 2007, after leaving Harper Collins Publishers. Mr. West and his wife, Maureen, reside in Archbald with their three children.

Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc.

Matthew Gawelko, a former resident of Swoyersville, recently joined the Denver office of the professional consulting services firm as a graduate engineer in the structural engineering group. He will assist team members with structural design of bridges and walls, detailing and quantities, bridge inspections and load ratings. He earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Colorado - Denver.

Pa. Osteopathic Medical Association

Jacqueline F. Cain, D.O., of Kingston, was recently elected to serve on the board of trustees of the association. Dr. Cain is a physician at InterMountain Health Group, Kingston, and an active staff member at the Wyoming Valley Health Care System, Wilkes-Barre. A member of the American Osteopathic Association, she is a graduate of the University of Scranton and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed an internship at Union Memorial Hospital in New Jersey and an internal medicine residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
