One hurt, one charged in crash

SCRANTON - One woman was injured and another was in custody after a three-vehicle crash Wednesday at Pittston Avenue and Cherry Street.

Rosemarie Guard, 56, of 534 Pear St., was traveling north on Pittston at 7:15 a.m. when a minivan going west on Cherry struck her car broadside in the intersection, police said. Ms. Guard's car then hit a parked van on Pittston.

Ms. Guard, who complained of pain after the crash, was taken to Community Medical Center for treatment.

The van driver, Eve M. Taylor, 31, of 1259 Bryn Mawr St., was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said.
