The left lane of Interstate 81 northbound between Exit 180 Moosic and Exit 182 Davis St has reopened following truck fire in work zone according to PennDOT. A several mile traffic backlog remains and motorists should still consider the following detour:

Exit 175B Pittston, 178 Avoca. Take the blue route detour: Rte 315 to Route 11 to Davis St. where it reenters I-81.

Because of backup at the Davis St turn, consider continuing on Rte 11 to Central Scranton Expressway, following the blue detour arrows.

At least two people have been reported injured this morning after an accident involving a car and a tractor trailer.

Police have not identified the motorists involved or have not described the type of car, but thick black smoke coming from a fire that ensued after the wreck could be seen for several miles. Police, fire and ambulance crews are at the scene.
