Saturday fire guts Auburn Twp. home

AUBURN TWP. - A Susquehanna County home about five miles north of Meshoppen was gutted by fire Saturday morning.

Good Will Fire Company Chief Scott Fisher said a neighbor of owners Phillip and Sara Wood reported the blaze at the Auburn Twp. home around 9:30 a.m. No one was in the house at the time of the fire, he added.

A pet dog was able to get out, although three other dogs may have been in the house at the time of the fire, according to a relative.

The house is located near the village of Transue, just off Route 3003, north of Cobourn Hill Road. Fire companies from Laceyville, Meshoppen and Rush Twp. responded, with Wyalusing on standby.
