Police: Man stole phone on display

SCRANTON - A Dickson City man was charged Thursday with retail theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing a cell phone from a display counter at Sam's Club, 921 Viewmont Drive, police said.

David Malewich, 36, who was identified from surveillance video, admitted during an interview with Detective James Pappas that he stole the phone and later sold it for $50, police said. The phone had a value of $380.

Jose, this is Obviously not his first offense, stealing a 380$ cell phone on your first offense will not get you thrown in jail at 10,000 bail.
