	     	<description><![CDATA[<p>Mr. and Mrs. William J. Simone, Throop, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday. They were married Aug. 20, 1960, in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Throop, by the Rev. Joseph Tomicek.</p><p>They were attended by Patricia Miller, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Ann Marie Polochick Berdnick, Wallingford, Conn., cousins of the bride; Joan Sofranko Kucharski, Toms River, N.J.; Louis Simone, Scranton, brother of the bridegroom; Steve Bobcheck, Tom Rivers, and William Ferrese, Dunmore, cousins of the bridegroom; and Vanessa Chinetski Williams, Clarks Summit, niece of the bride.</p><p>Mrs. Simone is the former Jean Ann Chinetski, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Chinetski. She is retired from Community Medical Center's Continuing Medical Education Department.</p><p>Mr. Simone is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William L. Simone. He is owner and operator of the Wm. Simone's Barber Shop, Scranton.</p><p>They marked the occasion with an anniversary Mass at St. Peter's Cathedral June 13 celebrated by Bishop Joseph Bambera, and a family dinner at Sibio's Restaurant, Dunmore. A trip to Lake George in the fall is planned.</p>]]></description>

Raymond Martsolf.</p><p>They were attended by Susan Butler Cantarella, Olyphant, sister of the bride; Linda Butler Baker, Hagerstown, Md.; Judy DeBoer Culpepper, Charlotte, N.C., cousins of the bride; Terry Keller Dell'Amico, Lake Ariel; Lorraine Perricone, formerly of Honesdale; Tom Aumen, Littlestown; Dr. Randy Westgate, Lancaster; Alan Butler, Atlanta, Ga., brother of the bride; and the late George Wherley Jr.</p><p>Mrs. Pepper is the former Carolyn Butler, daughter of the late Carl R. and Evelyn M. Butler. She is a card merchandiser for American Greetings cards.</p><p>The Rev. Mr. Pepper is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerard E. Pepper, Honesdale. He is pastor of Berean Baptist Church, Carbondale. He is also chaplain at SCI Waymart and a chaplain lieutenant colonel in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.</p><p>They will mark the occasion with a celebration with friends in Boston and Chicago.</p>]]></description>

They were married July 2, 1960, in Holy Cross Church by the late Right Rev. Monsignor William A. O'Mara.</p><p>They were attended by Theresa Savani D'Andrea, Anne Carl Grindle, sister of the bridegroom; Sabina Feury Murphy and Edward Monahan Jr., cousins of the bridegroom; Joseph M. Carl, brother of the bridegroom; Frank J. Perlitis Jr., brother of the bride; and Jean Zawada.</p><p>Mrs. Carl is the former Peggy Perlitis, daughter of the late Frank and Susan Perlitis. She is retired from Harcourt Learning Direct, Scranton, and is employed by the Abington School District.</p><p>Mr. Carl is the son of the late Orvale and Mary Carl. He is a veteran of the Navy and prior to retirement, was employed with Mack Trucks Inc. for 35 years. He is a school bus driver for Rohrer Bus Service in the Abington School District.</p><p>The couple has three children, William B., Cicero, N.Y.; Colleen S. Carl Reiner, South Abington Twp.; and Glenn M., Medford, Mass. They also have eight grandchildren.</p><p>They marked the occasion with a garden party hosted by their children. A trip to Hawaii is planned.</p>]]></description>

They were married Aug. 18, 1960, in Elbridge, N.Y., by Fred Wright.</p><p>They were attended by Joseph Krenitsky.</p><p>Mrs. Williams is the former Ellen Tracy, daughter of the late Forrest and Margaret Tracy. </p><p>Mr. Williams is the son of the late Harry Sr. and Anna Williams. </p><p>The couple has five children, Antionette Zimmerman, Peckville; Daniel, Carbondale; Michele Schury, Lemont, Ill.; Forrest, Union Dale; and Camille, Scranton. They also have seven grandchildren.</p><p>They will mark the occasion with a party given by their children and grandchildren today.</p>]]></description>

David Ball.</p><p>They were attended by Nancy Powell Bryant; Chester Lewandowski, brother-in-law of the bride; and the late Walter Carling and Charles Gollon.</p><p>Mrs. Waverka is the former Nancy Carling, daughter of the late Otto and Grace Carling. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Bell Atlantic for 30 years.</p><p>Mr. Waverka is the son of the late Joseph and Anna Waverka. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Mac Tac for 28 years.</p><p>The couple has three children, Marcie Ellen Renwick, New Milford; Craig Paul, Gilbertsville; and Robert Thomas, Naples, Fla. They also have nine grandchildren.</p><p>They marked the occasion with a dinner hosted by their children.</p>]]></description>
