It seems blondes really do have more fun.

Recently, Times-Tribune readers voted for their five favorite and five least-favorite comics. Once again, "Blondie" came out on top.

In a similar survey conducted in 2006, the fair-haired icon won over runner-up "Peanuts" by a 10 percent margin, with 365 votes to 323.This year, the numbers jumped considerably, with "Blondie" bringing in a whopping 495 votes, compared to runner-up "Andy Capp," which garnered 433 votes.

On the opposite end of the scale, "Get Fuzzy" and "Judge Parker" found themselves drawing the most negative response, earning 548 and 527 votes for least favorite, respectively.

In total, 1,244 readers participated in the unscientific survey, and many included handwritten notes emphasizing their choices and their feelings about the comics pages in general.

"Comic pages are definitely a day brightener," Anne P. Flannery wrote.

Yet another reader, who signed his letter "A.M.," had this to say: "In this time of economic downturn, the comics help us keep a bit of fun and laughter in our lives. Also, doing all of the puzzles and games is enjoyable, makes us think, and is another respite from the hard things in our lives."
