15-year-old Scranton native realizes dream by publishing first graphic novel

Scranton native Dan Bedford Jr. has published his first book at age 15.

Danny's determination in writing a graphic novel is even more notable considering that Danny is not an average 15-year-old - he was born with cerebral palsy.

Though it can be difficult for Danny to grip a pen or use a keyboard, the teenager was inspired by his childhood love of comic books to create "Shadow Phantom Begins," a 122-page graphic novel following the adventures of unique superhero Shadow Phantom, who has many special powers, including the ability to fly and become invisible.
