There are days when his legs are fatigued and his wind is short. The voices of two excited little boys have to push Chaz Ross' body past a point of exhaustion.
As he pushes the two-person stroller on one of his marathon training runs, his 4-year-old twins, Seth and Deegan, scream and shout for their daddy to go faster.
It isn't always an easy request to fulfill during a five-mile jaunt through Union Dale, but the competitor inside him powers his knees higher and quickens his pace.
MOOSIC - With another game postponed because of wet field conditions, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees will play their third doubleheader of the past two weeks.
Which might be a good sign for Game 1 starter Ivan Nova.
Called up from Double-A last weekend, Nova's Triple-A debut came in the first game of a doubleheader on Monday. He went 5â

MOOSIC - Forced to once again postpone a game because of unplayable field conditions, the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre Yankees on Saturday acknowledged what had become increasingly obvious.

There have been the highest of highs - earning All-American status as a running back, to being the top pick in the 1995 NFL Draft. Player of the Week
Center fielder Austin Jackson went six straight games with at least one hit and one run. That stretch included Jackson's second and third home runs of the season, with the two homers coming on back-to-back days, Sunday and Monday. He was also one of three Yankees picked for the Triple-A all-star game.
Pitcher of the Week
Ivan Nova had a terrific Triple-A debut on Monday, but the pitching performance of the week belonged to Josh Towers, who went seven strong innings while guiding the Yankees to a win in Pawtucket on Friday. He allowed just one run on four hits while walking none. Winless through the end of May, Towers has now won three of his past four decisions.
Exactly one week after he arrived in the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre Yankees clubhouse, left fielder Colin Curtis finally heard the inevitable question.
He seemed to be expecting it, having been asked virtually every other time he moved up a rung on the Yankees organizational ladder. When he was in college, Curtis said, he seemed to get the question every time he played a road game in a new city.
